How a stall joins

Sign in with the mobile on your UrbanStall account, create a store by name, and wait under Opening soon until the store is approved.

A shop joins UrbanStall from an account that already has a mobile number. The pictures in this post are drawings. They are not photographs of a phone, a counter, or a shop in Dumka.

A new store sits under Opening soon. Customers do not see it until UrbanStall approves it.

Sign in at urbanstall.app/login. The page title is Login | UrbanStall. The description under it says Sign in with your phone to manage your stall. On a wide screen the side panel says Welcome to UrbanStall, then Your Digital Marketplace, then Manage your stalls and profile with ease. The form heading is Sign in. The line under it says: Use the mobile number on your UrbanStall account.

The form takes the mobile number first. It keeps ten digits. If the number is shorter, the page says Enter a 10-digit mobile number. Sending the code is the next step. The code that comes back is five digits. If the code is short, the page says Enter the 5-digit code. A wrong code, or a code the server does not accept, stays on the same form with the message the server returned. There is a signup path on the site, and it sends the visitor to this same login page.

My Stalls

After sign-in, stalls live under Stalls. A merchant sees the heading My Stalls, and the line Showing stalls linked to your merchant account. A city partner sees the stalls linked to the partner account. The page splits those stalls into two headings: LIVE STALLS and OPENING SOON.

Create a store

Create a store from that page. The dialog title is Create store. The only field is the store name. An empty name is refused with Enter a stall name. On success the page says Store created. The new store is filed under OPENING SOON. Customers do not see it on the city list while it sits there.

When the account has no store yet, the empty page says You haven't created any store yet! The button under that says Create Store, and the line under the button says Charges Apply. The page does not print an amount. A partner or an admin who already creates stores from the top of the page uses Create store. The charge line is the one on the empty merchant page.

Approval

UrbanStall approves the store before it can show to a customer. After approval it moves to LIVE STALLS. Approval is the step that takes a store off Opening soon. Until that happens, the city list does not include it.

How a customer finds it

A customer finds a live stall from the home page, not from the merchant's Stalls page. They pick a city, then a tile. The tiles are Food & Beverages, Groceries & Essentials, Fruits & Vegetables, Cakes & Bakeries, Dairy & Sweets, Meat & Fish, Gifts & Flowers, Venue Halls, Rooms, and Laundry. The stall has to carry the tag for that tile. A stall with only a food tag does not appear on the grocery tile. Tags are how the shop is filed. The public list also leaves out a stall that is on vacation. The web list hides a stall it treats as closed for that day. So a store can be approved and still be absent from the list on a day it is shut.

The address, the note, and the type line are part of the listing the customer reads. The note is the shop's own words. The type line is a short label, such as Family Restaurant or Gift Shop, when the stall has one. Products are the catalog the merchant keeps after the store exists. Inventory is the stock against that catalog. Pending orders are the orders still open for that stall. Those three are the merchant's daily work once the store is live.

Payment and the rider

The customer pays cash on delivery or online through Razorpay. Delivery is by a rider from the city partner. The merchant does not have to be the rider. In a partner city the rider side of the trip belongs to the partner's staff.

A city is not a stall

A city itself is not the same thing as a stall. Dumka, Godda, Jamtara, and Sahibganj each have a city partner. The picker on the website spells Sahibganj as Sahebganj. Jarmundi is run by the company. A city partner is the person who runs riders and collections in that place. A stall is one shop's listing inside a city. Creating a store does not make the account a city partner. The store is one stall, with a name, waiting under Opening soon until it is approved.

The home page still explains the customer side in one line. It says Bharat ka SuperApp, and it says it is delivering Groceries, Home Decors, Medicines, Food Items, Bakeries, and Gifts. A new stall joins that list only after it is approved, tagged, and open. The Dumka snapshot of shops on those lists is Stalls on UrbanStall in Dumka. What the platform is, before any one shop, is What UrbanStall is.

Once the store is live, the merchant's next work is the catalog. Products belong to the stall. Inventory is the stock on those products. Pending orders are the orders that are still open. The website keeps that work on the stall's admin pages after sign-in. A customer never uses those pages to browse. The customer uses the city tiles.

The same tiles exist for every city on the picker. Food in Godda follows the same path as food in Dumka, with the city name in the link. A stall tagged only for Dumka's area is not promised on another city's list. The list is whoever is approved, open, and tagged, around the city the customer picked.

The headings on the merchant page are the words LIVE STALLS and OPENING SOON. A store the merchant just created is in the second group. LIVE STALLS is the group a customer can already meet from a city tile.

The public list does not show a store that is still under Opening soon. The first time a customer can open the stall is after approval, on a day the stall is not on vacation and not treated as closed.
